[ open ] Welcome to Chile, Cadets.
Characters: ALL.
Location: Valparaíso Shatterdome, Chile.
Date/Time: February 15th-28th.
Summary: The first shipment of recruits into the new Jaeger Academy program arrive. Some are staggered throughout the month, but they all have the same basic greeting. Here you are, there's where you sleep, here's what you wear, get going.
Additional Notes: See here for additional information. For information on the current weather, check out this link.
The Shatterdome didn't look futuristic, swatches of metal and concrete transforming a portion of the harbor into five enormous bays. Nevermind that only two were currently in use. The stark greys stand out against the colorful face of the city, a hulking monolith that's been carved into the face of the city that had once upon a century been termed the Jewel of the Pacific.
Note: Players are welcome to start their own interactions outside of the three main prompted scenarios. Go wild!

You'll get the Full Shiganshina Experience soon enough IF JESSA WOULD EVER GET HOME...
"What?" Yes, Eren. That's helpful. Didn't they get the "favorite color" type questions out of the way during screening already? He frowns deeply over the remains of his dinner, gives the labcoat a curious look, as if he's trying to decide if this guy is a superior officer or a scientist or— "Who are you?"
Blunt. A little more blunt than he should probably have risked, but it's been one day—it'll take far more than that before he's a shining example of military decorum. Sometimes nature overrules even the most enthusiastic of recruits.
goddd Jessa what the heeeeckkk what a bum
"Someone very sick of all the white, but without many choices of dye." It hadn't even been a day since arrival. Nonetheless, voice non-pulsed and even more unhurried, gaze at last shifting off to the side, brows furrowing. "Sky blue wouldn't go well with my hair, would it? That'd be a good point to bring up-- would you agree, cadet? I've always been more a fan of navy, or at least something deeper..."
Yeah, that certainly helped his image. They were both clearly making the best decisions.
Gosh rude! I was away on important business
"Sir," She corrects Eren's lack of courtesy, though the look she gives the man is skeptical at best- her mouth turned down and dark eyes too intense for such a lighthearted line of questioning, "What does it matter what color it is...?" Despite her warning to Eren, she's not any better at being friendly.
girls you're all pretty.
But honestly, these two... How difficult is it to answer superiors without question? Even if the man across from them isn't in charge of them, they're on the lowest rung out of anyone in the building. Respect up the ladder, no matter the stretch.
It's a perplexing question, to be fair, but in light of the other two's lack of cooperation, Armin gives it the consideration it deserves.
"If you're limited to those, pink would probably contrast better with the prominent cool colors of the facility, sir." The boy is about as far a cry as can be from fashion expert or interior designer, but it seems like the proper choice if it's the other's desire to pop. And this seems like the type of gentleman who desires to pop, given the fact he's considering altering his garb to begin with.

He hisses something sharp in protest when Mikasa whacks him under the table, and he meets her glare balefully. But he gets the message, if a little late. Rangers and drill sergeants and the like are easy for him to remember to defer to. He'd looked up to them for years, they carry with them a sort of weight. Odd and spindly bowtied science types take a little bit of getting used to. Luckily, Armin seems to be handling the talking for the moment. He bites his tongue long enough to wait for an explanation that makes sense. If one is ever going to be forthcoming.
"White? You mean your coat?" Well, maybe he doesn't wait that long. The labcoat is the whitest thing on this guy. And, amending that— "Sir?"

"Pink -- pink, that's a very good point, a very good point indeed, thank you. Pink. Yes, I can work with that." A happy hum, tea raised toward Armin in a gesture of gratitude, smile appearing soft and easy. Overall, with question at rest and all three of them watching him, he seems to relax, shoulder drooping and tea raised for a quick sip.
After, back straightening, pep once more infused in his voice, "It's doctor, by the way, not sir. Doctor Smith, to be precise; who are you all, hey?"
no subject
"Doctor?" an echo and a distant frown, head tilted slightly as he turns his attention back to the man in question. This time he manages to actually answer the question posed to him in good time.
"Cadet Eren Jaeger," there's been a lot of introductions today, and he's getting used to it. He'll let Mikasa and Armin handle their own. "What sort of Doctor?"
no subject
The doctor seems pleased enough with Armin's answer, and the topic is dropped but if it's so important, Mikasa can't help but belatedly amend a third option, speaking from behind a glass of water raised to her lips, "You could always use both dyes at once."
Then, as an afterthought, "Cadet Mikasa Ackerman."
